UNION COUNTY NC

A serious accident has a road closed down as emergency personnel prepare to repell down a steep embankment to free a woman from her wrecked vehicle.

Authorities say that the crash on Sutherland Dairy Rd has the entire road closed near Pageland-Marshville Rd.

The crash sent the vehicle down a steep ravine and the driver is still trapped inside. Her condition is not known at this time.

Three fire departments, Wingate police, sheriff deputies and the State Highway Patrol are on the scene. CMC helicopter is also en route.
